How do I schedule an appointment?

For new patients, the best way to schedule an appointment is to schedule online at: https://account.mindful.care/registration
Once you submit your appointment request, our team will contact you within 24 hours to schedule and confirm your appointment.
For existing patients, please call us at 516.505.7200 or email support@mindful.care to schedule an appointment.

How long does it take to be seen?

We aim to offer same and next day appointments Sunday through Friday, 8am to 6pm. The wait can occasionally be longer due to high demand but for the most part, we are able to accommodate patients within 48 hours.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes! We accept most commercial health insurance plans, as well as Medicare and Medicaid, Managed Plans. To verify your insurance coverage, we require a copy of your health insurance card. You may submit your insurance information when scheduling an appointment. If Mindful is not covered in your insurance network, we will notify you prior to confirming your appointment. If you are not currently covered by an insurance plan, our affordable pricing ensures that you can still receive the support and treatment that you need.



Who will I be seen by at my appointment?

Our team is made up of Nurse Practitioner’s (NP) and Certified Physician Associate’s (PA-C) who will meet with you in-person or virtually. All of which are trained and certified to treat mental health patients. They work very closely with our Supervising Psychiatrists (MD) to coordinate and review treatment.

What Is A Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Certified Physician Associate (PA-C)?

Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Associates (PA-Cs) are licensed healthcare professionals who have successfully completed master's degree programs. These programs equip them with the skills to diagnose, prescribe medication, offer health education, and provide therapy. NPs and PA-Cs deliver healthcare services in primary and acute care settings, covering various specialty areas such as general medicine and mental health.

Will I be seen in-person or virtually?

It depends on your appointment type – some are virtual and some are in person. Please confirm your visit type when scheduling.

What ages do you see?

Psychiatric Services (Medication Management) - Ages 12+

Therapy Services (Individual and Group Therapy) - Ages 18+

Substance Use Counseling - Ages 18+

Can I choose my provider?

We do try to accommodate all provider requests but please understand that this may delay getting an appointment depending on the provider’s availability.

What medications do you prescribe?

Mindful Care prescribes a wide variety of psychiatric medications for mental health that are safe and effective, including antidepressants, anti-anxiety medications, and mood stabilizers.

We do not prescribe any controlled substances, habit-forming medications, or long-acting injectables, with the exception of those receiving treatment for opioid use disorder.
