Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) is a prevalent and serious mental health condition that significantly impacts an individual's emotional well-being and daily functioning. Characterized by persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and a loss of interest or pleasure in activities that were once enjoyable, MDD can lead to a range of physical and cognitive symptoms. These symptoms often interfere with the person's ability to carry out normal activities, maintain relationships, and perform at work or school.

  2. Loss of Interest or Pleasure: Diminished interest or enjoyment in activities that were once pleasurable.
  3. Changes in Sleep Patterns: Insomnia or hypersomnia, involving difficulties falling asleep, staying asleep, or excessive sleeping.
  4. Fatigue: Persistent feelings of tiredness and lack of energy.
  5. Feelings of Worthlessness or Guilt: Negative self-perception, unwarranted guilt, or feelings of worthlessness.
  6. Difficulty Concentrating: Impaired ability to focus, make decisions, or complete tasks.
  7. Changes in Appetite: Significant changes in appetite leading to weight loss or gain.
  8. Psychomotor Agitation or Retardation: Observable changes in physical movements, either accelerated or slowed.
